Ellington Baptist Church – Olympian Program

6:15 – 8:00 pm

A children’s Christian Education program based on material from Word of Life.

Ministry Philosophy: 
Reaching youth whose needs constantly change with Biblical truth that never changes!

Ministry Purpose:
Introduce and disciple children to a growing Christian life through mature leadership in the local church.

How Olympians Works: 
We meet during the school year (approximately September to May).
We break the year into 3 levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold
Each level is from 8 to 10 weeks. We try to avoid holiday and school vacations.

Children are divided into different groups according to age/grade.
Each group has a different number of requirements to meet.

First an Olympian becomes a member by:
• 3 weeks of attendance
• Reciting Pledges (American Flag, Christian Flag, Bible and Church)
• Reciting the Olympian Motto: Philippians 3: 14
• Singing the Olympian song

Then they work towards awards in each level. Requirements include:
• Scripture Memory
• Christian Service
• Reading a Christian book
• Bringing a visitor to club night
• Having a Faithful Quiet Time
• Faithful Church Attendance
